Couples Therapy Intensive in Westlake Village, CA

COUPLES INTENSIVES

When one hour a week isn't enough to untangle years of patterns.

Concentrated couples therapy designed to create real breakthroughs, not in three months. Now.

Couples Intensives

You didn’t get here overnight

The distance, the resentment, the fights that go in circles, the silence that feels worse than yelling. It built up slowly. And one hour a week isn't going to untangle years of patterns.

A COUPLE’S INTENSIVE gives you and your partner the time and space to actually get into what's broken, understand why it keeps happening, and start building something different. Not in three months. Now.

WHY COUPLES INTENSIVES WORK

  • A drawing of a scallop shell with detailed lines and shading.

Deeper Than a Weekly Session Can Go
Fifty minutes is barely enough time to get past the surface. By the time you both feel safe enough to say the real thing, the session is over. An intensive gives you the space to actually get into it, sit with it, and work through it without stopping just when things get honest.

    No Losing Ground Between Sessions
Weekly couples therapy can feel like starting over every time. You leave feeling hopeful, then life happens, the same fight comes back, and by your next session you're catching each other up instead of moving forward. An intensive eliminates that cycle. You stay in the work and build on every breakthrough.

Both of You, Fully In It
Intensives alternate between joint and individual work. That means each of you gets space to say what you need to say without performing for the other person, and then we come back together with more honesty and less armor. You'll leave with specific strategies you practiced in real time, not vague advice about "communicating better." Tools you can use that night.

Couples intensives can help with:

𓇼  Infidelity and broken trust

𓇼 Conflict that keeps escalating into the same fight

𓇼 Communication that's gone cold or shut down completely

𓇼 Feeling stuck after months of weekly couples therapy

𓇼 Deciding whether to stay together or walk away

𓇼 Disconnection after a major life change

Meet Your Therapist

I'm Efi Pyladaki-Feinstein, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Board Certified Behavior Analyst with over 16 years of clinical experience. My dual training means I bring two things to couples work that most therapists can't offer at the same time: the clinical depth to understand what's happening underneath the fights, and the practical, evidence-based tools to actually change the patterns that keep showing up.

I'm direct. I'm warm. And I won't let you both sit in polite silence while the real issue stays in the room untouched. If something needs to be said, we're going to say it. With care, always. But we're going to say it.

Hi, I am Efi

What we work on:

  • Illustration of various seashells, including a scallop shell, a conch shell, and a clam shell.

    Conflict that keeps escalating
We slow it down, figure out what's actually driving it, and give you tools to fight fair. Not to avoid conflict, but to have it without destroying each other.

  • Illustration of a starfish with five arms, detailed with dashed lines and dots.

    Trust that's been damaged
Whether it's a betrayal, a pattern of broken promises, or years of feeling unseen. Rebuilding trust is possible, but it takes focused, honest work. An intensive creates the container for that.

  • Drawing of a pistachio nut shell with no nut inside.

    Communication that's shut down
You've stopped talking about the real stuff. Or you talk and nothing changes. We'll identify the patterns that keep you stuck and practice new ones in real time.

  • Illustration of a seashell, elongated with spiral ridges.

    Clarity about what's next
Sometimes the goal is healing together. Sometimes it's figuring out whether staying is the right choice. Both are valid. I'll help you get clear on what you actually want.

Why couples choose intensives over weekly sessions:

𓇼 You're in crisis and can't wait weeks to address it

𓇼 You've tried couples therapy before and it felt too slow

𓇼 One or both of you travel and can't commit to a weekly schedule

𓇼 You want to make a real decision about the relationship and stop going in circles

𓇼 You're preparing for a major transition (marriage, separation, blending families)

Howit Works

01 Consultation Call

We start with a conversation. You tell me what's going on. I help you decide whether an intensive is the right format and we set clear goals so every minute counts.

02 Pre-Session Preparation

Before your intensive, I may send you each individual assessment or reflection exercise. This means we hit the ground running instead of spending the first hour getting oriented

03 The Intensive

Sessions run 3 to 6 hours depending on what we're working on. We alternate between joint sessions and individual check-ins. Built-in breaks so nobody burns out. The structure is intentional. Every part of it is designed to move you forward.

04  Follow-Up and Integration

The work doesn't end when the session does. You'll get a personalized follow-up plan with specific exercises to practice together, resources, and optional check-in sessions to help everything settle and stick.
